MA 2160: Calculus 2

Useful stuff:

• Office Hours: MWF 9:00 - 10:00 am and TR 10:00 - 11:00 am in Fisher 327A

News:

• I am cancelling my office hour on Friday, September 12 from 9 - 10 am. We will have office hours on other Fridays as usual.
• Exam 1: Thursday, October 2 at 7:00 pm in Chem Sci 102. Covers 13.1 - 13.4 and 7.1, 7.2, 7.4. No calculators.
• To make up for Exam 1, there will be no class Wednesday, October 1. I will still be available for questions that day during my usual office hours.
• Here are some comments about Exam 1.
• I am cancelling my office hour on Wednesday, October 15 from 9 - 10 am. We will still have office hours other Wednesdays as usual.
• Exam 2: Thursday, October 30 at 7:00 pm in Fisher 139 (our usual classroom). Covers 7.5, 7.6, 7.7, and 8.1 - 8.4.
• I will be having a review session for Exam 2 on Wednesday, October 29 at 6 pm, in Fisher 326.
• To make up for Exam 2, there will be no class Friday, October 31. I will still be available for questions that day during my usual office hours.

• Exam 3: Thursday, November 20 at 7:00 pm in EERC 103. Covers 8.5, 9.2, 10.1 - 10. 4, 11.1.
• To make up for Exam 3, there will be no class Friday, November 21. I will still be available for questions during my usual office hours. Happy Thanksgiving!
• Final Exam: Monday, December 15 at 7:45 pm in Fisher 139.

Homework news:

• Assignment 1: Do the following by Monday, September 8th:
  1. Come to my office during office hours and read the cartoons on the cubicle wall. Also introduce yourself!
  2. Send me an email.
  3. Download and do Calculus 1 Derivatives and Integrals. Due Monday, September 8th at the beginning of class.
• Do not do 13.3 #19a (Still do part b)
• Do not do 7.2 #36
• Homework 7.4: Because we won't have class on Wednesday, October 1st (make-up for Exam 1), Homework 7.4 isn't due until Friday, October 3rd. However, if you want feedback on 7.4, you may turn it in to me on Monday or Tuesday (September 29 or 30), in class or during my office hours. I will mark the papers quickly and you can pick them up on Wednesday or Thursday during my office hours.
• Homework 8.4: Due to the exam, Homework 8.4 will be due Monday, October 27 no later than 4:00 pm. You can hand it in in class, or bring it to my office. I will mark it and return it on Wednesday so that you can look at it before the exam.
• Homework 10.4: Due to the exam, Homework 10.4 will be due Monday, November 17 no later than 4:00 pm. You can hand it in in class, or bring it to my office. I will mark it and return it on Wednesday.
